30 Day Green Smoothie ChallengeDesafio: 30 Dias de Suco Verde

Universo Organico and Viva Institute present the 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge! It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s going to make you feel really, really great!

What’s a Green Smoothie?

Classic Green Smoothie

A Green Smoothie is simply a blended shake  made of whole fruits and leafy greens. It’s a quick and delicious way to get all of your daily required fruits veggies down the hatch in sixty seconds. Many people drink them as a breakfast replacement because they’re packed full of vitamins and easy to pack.

The benefits of Green Smoothies include:

  • increased energy and vitality
  • improved concentration
  • weight loss
  • clearer skin
  • improved digestion
  • fewer cravings and mood swings

When we first started drinking smoothies, we weren’t raw foodists, we just wanted to do something to improve our health fast. Within weeks, we’d dropped five pounds!  Within a month, our cravings for caffeine and sugar disappeared.

Okay, I’m in….response 24…..does that mean we only have 24 people “in” to do this challenge? Let’s have at least 4 more people to make it 30 people for the 30 day challenge!

AbsoLUTely agree! I know there are a lot more out there (they’re on Facebook), but they haven’t officially “registered.” I’ll see if I can persuade them today.

      Glad you’re here!

Wow…for lunch! Are you going for salty or sweet?

      Glad you’re on board. :)

We do lots of kale and parsley, plus, flax seed, coconut milk, banana, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, filtered water and bit of honey. It’s addictive….can’t go without it!!

Sorry for too much information, but when I drink a smoothie in the morning I go to the bathroom at least 3 times a day, after every meal. That’s a plus right there! And that’s how it should be: “IN…AND OUT!!”

Okay, Gilvania made the best green smoothie ever this morning…great one for those people who are not yet used to drinking them and like things on the sweeter side: in the Vitamix – 2 frozen bananas, 2 small carrots (still baby ones, some carrot greens (very little), spinach, broccoli leaves, collard leaves, fresh ginger root, water, and blend. Delicious!!

I’m down! I do spinach, pineapple and banana. And you don’t even taste the green.
This is great and force me to stay on track. Thank you!

First green smoothie was quite tasty! I was a bit skeptical about how spinach would taste in a smoothie, so I went light on the spinach and heavy on the fruit (raspberries, peaches and a banana with a splach of cranberry juice and water). It was more brown than green in color, but a nice way to ease into it!

      Hi Brenda,
My trick with the spinach is to put it in first with some water and hit liquify on your blender. I let it go for a few minutes and then add the rest of my smoothie goodies. You won’t taste or “feel!” the spinach!

Yes, smoothie for one. And it blends in the cup you drink it in, which is super convenient!
